Meet the Artist - Simon Edwards is a North Yorkshire native who having lived in Stokesely,Guisborough, has now finally managed to indulge in his passion for all things ‘art’ and opened ‘Art on the Front’ a gallery shop not too far away in Redcar. His inspiration is and has always been the sea - from fishing to diving and more recently kayaking out of Sandsend and Runswick bay he also has a love for all things Whitby. His vibrant prints follow the completion of 9 large lobsters - oil on board using a palette knife - these were painted for an exhibition with the intent of keeping the plight of the north east marine ecosystems in the public eye….a public enquiry regarding the mass die-offs is currently underway.A set of 9 edible crabs followed and subsequent octopus,shrimps etc.Original oil commissions can be undertaken.
About the seller - My name is Charlotte Vitty, a mum of two beautiful toddlers and a love for everything Whitby! After many visits to Whitby it captured my heart and I moved here around a year ago, with the beautiful scenery, fish and chips (and of course the Abbey) it was the sea that took my breath away and concreated my decision to move.
With spending so much of my time in Whitby I have seen many paintings, prints and art but none as eye catching, fun and compact as these fabulous prints!
I am a local in Whitby and met Simon through mutual connections and knew instantly that I wanted to sell his work. From his inspiration to expertise and passion that's obvious through his work, Simon is an outrageously talented artist with a real anchor to everything seaside which is how we connected so well upon this exciting business venture.
These prints are not only easy to slide in your suitcase but would make a beautiful gift from your holiday as they are fun, modern and represent Whitby to a T.
